[5], 408; [2], 417 [3]; [6], 417 [1]; [6], 520; [6], 498; [4], 500, [6] pp. Each vol. with engraved frontispiece (Vol. 6 titled Continuation de l'Histoire de Don-Quichotte), 46 engraved plates in total. Woodcut head- and tail-pieces, and initials. Vol. 2 lacking first 2 unn. leaves of content and pp. 1-4, vol. 3 frontispiece with tear to center affecting image. Bound in uniform 19th century half cloth over marbled boards, paper labels titled in script to spines. Text bowned throughout, occasional light marginal dampstains, spotting in places, upper margin trimmed close affecting headlines of a few pages, 7 plates trimmed close into or touching plate mark. Provenances: Dr. D. Gußmann (bookplates to front pastedowns), Dr. R. Blasius (ink stamp to flyleaves and title-page of vol.3). ----

Palau 52721, 52722. The Amsterdam edition by Wetstein is a reprint of the edition by Pierre Mortier, 1700 (Palau 52722). Vol. VI of Robert Challes' continuation, dated 1715, is the first published of the six volumes by Wetstein and attributed to Francois Filleau de Saint-Martin's translation, first published in six volumes by Compagnie des Libraires 1713 in Paris (Palau 52721). Vol. V is a reprint of the 1717 edition. The 4 frontispieces and 32 chapter illustrations to vols. 1-4 are engraved by Hendrik Cause and are after Savery and Bouttats' designs.
