Internally little browned, cancelled signature on half-title, a few ink marginalia, faint dampstaining to a few leaves. This book contains the famous image illustrating Boyle's experiment drawing water with his pump up to the top of the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford. Boyle's rather interesting preface recounts some of the trials and tribulations of both scientific research and the publishing process.
