4to (228 x 172 mm). [8], 512 pp. Woodcut printer's device to title, woodcut initials and tailpieces, 20 full-page engraved obstetrical illustrations. Reused contemporary vellum, spine with remnant of ink lettering (vellum browned and heavily stained and spotted, chipped spine ends restored with new vellum, new endpapers). Text little browned and foxed mainly in margins throughout, brown staining to upper margin of about 30 gatherings, several paper repairs to blank margins and worm tracks occasionally affecting side notes and plate marks.
