Eighth edition; the first was published in 1472. "A page-for-page reprint except for the table, of the edition of 1474 by the same printers" (BMC), of the major work of the Franciscan canon lawyer de Platea (d. 1460). His treatise is generally considered to be one of the earliest printed works on economics, although it also deals with matters of moral, legal and political import from accross Italy. In the section on excommunication, he details seven ways of falsifying papal documents, all of which, of course, would lead to excommunication. He also considers the moral standing of a person who has ordered a failed assassination and condemns inquisitors who extort money from suspected heretics. Hain and Proctor wrongly describe this book as a folio, and Reichling gives 154 leaves in error. The B.M. Cat. Inc. V, 227-228, gives a correct description.
